Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Sports, is holding an emergency meeting with the Board of Directors of the Squash Federation to discuss the circumstances of the player’s decision, Mohamed El Shorbagy.
The meeting will be held in the presence of Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Sports, Assem Khalifa, President of the Egyptian Squash Federation, members of the Federation’s Board of Directors and a number of leaders of the Ministry of Youth and Riyadh.
The meeting will discuss all the circumstances related to the decision of the third-ranked player in the world in squash, Mohamed El Shorbagy, to represent England and leave his country.
The English Squash Association has officially announced that Mohamed El Shorbagy will compete in the upcoming international tournaments as an English player. (details from here)

El Shorbagy will become an English player, starting with the next tournament, which will be held in Mauritius from June 7 to 11, so that the El Gouna Open squash competition will be his last tournament as an Egyptian player.
Mohamed El Shorbagy is scheduled to participate in the local British Championship from 13 to 18 June in Manchester.
Al-Shorbagy is 31 years old. He started his professional career in 2006 and has since played 178 international championships.
El-Shorbagy succeeded in achieving 44 international championship titles out of 71 finals he reached, becoming the most Egyptian player to achieve titles in squash.
Mohamed El Shorbagy won the world title once in 2017, while he was runner-up three times.
Al-Shorbagy won many major championships during his career, as he won the British Open title three times, and with the same balance, he won the US Open and the Champions League.
Mohamed El-Shorbagy is considered the fifth most ranked player in the world rankings for the game with a score of 50 months, and the Egyptian is the most at the top of the classification.
August 2021 was the last time that Mohamed El Shorbagy topped the world squash rankings, 9 months away from fourth place and 10 from third place.
